Remote Work Perks Can Tempt IT Candidates to Join SMBs

Remote work perks have always been the best selling point to attract IT professionals to any organization. It provides them the much-needed work-life balance and flexible work hours in their busy life. In the current pandemic scenario, it is a mandatory perk to attract IT candidates for small businesses. In this article at BizTech Magazine, Keara Dowd shares how remote work perks can tempt IT candidates to join SMBs.

Remote Work and IT Talents

While it is new for several, it is one of the perks that organizations use to lure and retain the best IT professionals. According to Dice 2020 Tech Salary Report, remote work is one of the attractive job benefits that technological experts look for. SMBs that cannot match the high-end salary package of the popular IT brands can use such work perks to attract them.

While higher salaries would still be the top priority for most, giving a more rounded compensation can bring back small businesses in the game. Also, room to innovate and experiment can be another attractive scheme for companies to hire top performers.

Perks to Get Top IT Talents

Though remote work has been a longstanding demand among IT professionals, organizations fail to offer that. 73 percent of IT hires vouch for work-from-home perks. 49 percent of the respondents confirmed getting that facility. Studies convey that remote work options result in better job satisfaction and employee productivity. However, most organizations think problems in communication, control, and innovation outweigh the pros.

Other top benefits that IT professionals prefer are college tuition compensation (48 percent), wellness plans (45 percent), and family vacation (45 percent).

The Motivation Component

Not only should SMBs pay more attention to hiring IT talents but also in retaining them. Giving them opportunities to grow and challenge their current capabilities reduces attrition significantly. By pushing their creative limits and encouraging them to come up with out-of-the-box solutions, you can engage them further. To give room to innovation, SMBs must automate mundane tasks.
