Millennials Have These 4 Workplace Technology Demands

Millennials are tech-savvy, so they want workplace technology options that fit their flexible lifestyle. The Randstad survey reveals that they prefer a better work-life balance to healthcare. In this article at BizTech Magazine, Doug Bonderud shares 4 workplace technology demands of millennials.

What the Millennial Workforce Wants

Instead of separating their professional lives from personal, Gen Y and Gen Z want to balance them as per their choice. As per a Deloitte research, 45% of millennial parents complain they cannot prioritize parental duties due to company rules. So, millennials want tools that can give them access to work wherever they want, whenever they want. Below are the four workplace technology demands they have:

Make Collaborations Tools Available: Business Insider reveals that millennials are ready for a pay cut provided companies give better flexible work options. They are willing to work outside office hours.  As a matter of fact, 68% of the professionals check work emails before their office starts. Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex allow employees to easily collaborate and stay connected.

Leveraging Automation Software: 60% of American workers spend time finishing up side tasks. Millennial workers think that repetitive tasks reduce productivity and prevent them from completing work on time. With automation, these tasks can be taken care of faster and more efficiently.

Smart Workspaces: As per ReadWrite, millennials want their work environment to be filled with smart technology that could make their work easier. Wireless connections and smart assistants will make a good starting point. In fact, Amazon Alexa and Google Home are slowly becoming a necessary part of workplace technology.

Introducing API Applications: Gen Y and Gen Z use mobile apps more than their older workers. So, many companies are investing in building API applications that boost mobile accessibility. Tools like digital vehicle systems and VPN connections can answer millennial workplace technology requirements.
