Even though a change in order is essential for most of the projects but keep them to a minimum if you want to avoid risking clients.
  2. Change: Clients do not like changes because it affects the project budget. But informing them in advance about the possibility of scope change or change orders is essential. An early declaration will reduce the customer impact.
  3. Timeline: Change orders and re-work directly impact project timeline and scheduled dates. It might also affect the project resources due to a shift in the timeframe. In fact, there would be a high possibility of a requirement for additional resources to cover new work that was not planned. Be ready for onboarding, learning curves, and revisions to existing plans in a bid to avoid further disruptions.
  4. Budget: Keep a close watch over budget for uncertain situations when expenses are expected to escalate fast. Again, well-documented and planned change order can help in fixing the situation. Consider all this a part of scope management.
