CIO’s Role is Critical to Deploy Enterprise Mobility

Madhav Mohan interviews Nabeel Youakim, VP of Asia-Pacific Products and Microsoft Alliance at Citrix, on enterprise mobility. They get into the detailed specifics of how and how not to implement it into the organization.

Youakim believes that device management, applications, and the policies governing them must converge so that effective across-the-board solutions can be created. Benefits of such an approach are instant access to apps, data, and desktops, an ability to deliver high performance to the user on any network, and an empowered mobile workforce. As for how SMAC might come into play, Youakim sees benefits and detriments:

SMAC has an undeniable effect of making businesses more agile through instant availability of information and more importantly allowing quicker response actions.

However, with the increased awareness also comes an imperative need to monitor data security. The emerging trends need a clearly devised data security and privacy strategy in place. A company needs to be able to foresee a wide array of issues ranging from device compatibility issues to data ownership on personal devices, and subsequently deploy a solution that addresses them effectively.

Robustness, connectivity, application compatibility, solution providers, and licenses are lastly listed as challenges currently facing the implementation of mobility. To read about these ideas in their full depth, you can view the full article here:
