Quality Only Equals Value When You Spell It Out

In a post for Source Global Research, Alison Huntington shares data that a majority of clients rate the service of their consultants as “high” or “very high.” However, nearly half as many clients feel that consulting work is generating additional value on top of what was paid. Rather than being a result of shoddy consulting, Huntington has data to support a different conclusion: Clients are just not being made aware of how much value the consultants are truly creating. That means consultants need to get more vocal with clients about explaining the specific ways that their services are improving business operations. Then the perception of value will increase to proper levels more reflective of the quality of the work being done. So keep in this mind during your next (or current) engagement!
