Drone startup Zipline has recently received a go-ahead from the US government to deliver medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to hospitals. Novant Health is a non-profit organization that runs hospitals and multiple other services in North Carolina. It has received the drone operator permit from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this video at CNN Business, CDO of Novant Health, Angela Yochem describes the first flight and how the supply drop-offs at the exact location was an exhilarating experience. The drone can carry about 4 pounds of medical supplies and makes a round trip of 30 miles.
