Stress is massively impacting the global economy. Wondering how? In this video at TED, Rob Cooke explains that the cost of work stress in the US is almost $300 billion annually. Workplace stress is related to the productivity and wellness of the employees. It results in employee disengagement, burnout, and chronic psychological issues. When you add up the cost of all the consequences, it estimates an annual fee of $2.2 trillion. The figure represents 12 percent of the GDP. Cooke believes if employees and managers make strategies to prioritize their mental, physical, and emotional health, saving the economy would be easier.
