Blind spots are the primary reason car drivers meet with accidents. Though cars come loaded with technologies now, carmakers are unable to solve this puzzle. Engadget’s senior editor Devindra Hardawar talks about a teenager that devised a technology that would help you drive safely around the blind spots. 14-year-old Alaina Gassler used a web camera and a projector at the Broadcom MASTERS competition to demonstrate it. The camera sends live video feeds, which she projected onto the pillar on the driver’s side of the car. Gassler used customized 3D printed car parts and reflective fabric to make the images appear seamless. Isn’t that amazing!
