In this Tech Insider video, you see Digit, a human-like delivery robot that Agility Robotics created in partnership with Ford. After a self-driving vehicle arrives at the destination, the robot will drop the package off at your doorstep. Agility Robotics CTO Jonathan Hurst explains that the purpose behind the robot’s look is to humanize while automating the delivery process.
Digit can carry packages weighing up to 40 pounds, climb up and down stairs, and walk effortlessly on uneven grounds. In fact, it can adjust its path if an object obstructs its way. Sensors and field stereo cameras help it to achieve all these. Moreover, the autonomous self-driving vehicle sends information to make Digit’s operations more seamless.
