Maintaining good relationships with your shareholders is integral to success in IT. This doesn’t mean taking an entire organization to dinner or schmoozing a high-ranking company member; there is some skill and tact to ensuring successful stakeholder management. Relationship Building for Stakeholders
You should take steps to maintain a stakeholder register that can be updated as need be in the future. This register should be consulted when creating a communications plan and when identifying risks. This should be a private register. Use your current stakeholders to see who all will be affected by your project. Maintain an appropriate amount contact with your stakeholders so you don’t annoy them. They are people too and some may act irrationally from time-to-time.
