3 Tips to Overcome the Struggle for Work Motivation

Having too many “to dos” can result in the whole mineshaft collapsing. How do you stay motivated through the challenging life you have set out on? Camille Preston offers three tips in an article for Fortune.

First of all, know the “why” in everything you do. Identify why your work matters, whom it affects, and how it plays into your personal and professional growth. Second, remember that motivation typically is sparked by emotions. Can you find a way to emotionally resonate with your work such that it ignites passion? (Squint really hard and glance at it sideways.) Third, it takes discipline and practice to convert “should do” work into “want to” work. This will either come in time, or you will come to realize that there is different work you should be doing with your life.
