6 Tips to Improve Job Security

Feeling a little paranoid about your status in the organization? Lisa Quast shares six little tips in an article for the Seattle Times to alleviate the concern and improve your job security. These are simple but effective recommendations.

They go like this: Increase your visibility and let everybody see how hard you are working. Help your manager with his or her problems, since what boss would not appreciate that? Think of yourself as an internal consultant, looking for ways to add more value to the business. Offer to help out coworkers in general. Demonstrate your expertise by volunteering yourself for extra projects. And always be mapping out what you can do in and out of the office to expand your skill set.
