Basic Aspects of Emotional Intelligence

In an article for Entrepreneur, Mariah Deleon briefly touches upon five aspects that most play into good emotional intelligence. The first, as you may know, is self-awareness. A self-aware person is better able to incorporate constructive criticism. Second is self-regulation, which allows a person to not suppress emotions but rather share them in an appropriate way. Third is self-motivation, an ability to look past money and status as reasons to put in hard work. Fourth is empathy, the critical ability to connect with other people on an emotional level and react genuinely to their concerns.
