Low-Cost Ways to Reward Employees

One of the major drivers of employee engagement is recognition, so in an article for Forbes, Kevin Kruse tosses out a couple dozen basic ways to express gratitude to employees. And these are indeed basic. Basic as in to say thank you to them. Pizza parties, long lunches, gift cards, and referencing the honored employees in a company-wide email are all ways to convey thanks as well. Then there are some other, more eye-roll-worthy suggestions, such as, “Have the entire team sign a framed photo or certificate of appreciation.” Uh, unless my colleagues are a major sports team or the cast of Star Wars, you can skip the signatures for me.
