Winning the Talent Game: How Gamification is Impacting Business and HR

What can gamification do for HR? Plenty, according to Prithvi Shergill in an article at Wired. Businesses are under pressure to onboard more new people to facilitate company growth, address skill shortages, and innovate new hire programs. Once HR has gotten new people through the door and trained them, they usually just have to hope everything works out afterward. Gamification however “bring out people’s natural desires for competition, achievement, status, self-expression, altruism and closure,” encouraging people to stick around. It also creates a highly specific framework in which to discuss whether people are living up to expectations, according to how they are doing in the “games.” To hear Shergill’s argument in its entirety, you can read the full article here:
