Top 3 Tips for Gamification Training in the Workplace

Looking for a few quick tips to get started with gamification? Joanna Jones shares three in an article for Business 2 Community. The first is that good design matters. Make clear what the purpose of the gamification program is, and keep it intuitive so employees do not think of it as an encumbrance. Second, use games not just to speed up work but to generally improve it. You should be wary of any program that merely tries to speed people up, because rewarding speedy sloppiness creates two problems at once. Lastly, remember that the rewards you use matter. In lieu of money, consider granting someone a day off or giving a team a free meal, and foster collaboration by letting people trade their points amongst themselves.
