Find a Fresh Perspective in a Comfortable Gig

When you find ways to have different conversations about familiar topics, you ensure that you are still putting your best foot forward in a long-held job. This is the takeaway from John Baldoni’s article at the Harvard Business Review. He provides three pointers for how to keep your perspective fresh. First, know your limitations, meaning be mindful of what it is that you do not or cannot know. Second, you are never too important to make customer visits, so get out there and relearn what it is your customer really wants.
