5 Challenges that Hamper Supply Chain Flexibility

When you cannot bend, all you can do is break. Gavin Davidson writes for Digital Supply Chain with five challenges that get in the way of proper flexibility. First is changing market conditions, in which real-time transparency must be employed to address economic and supplier volatility. Second is systems sprawl, the phenomenon of too many point solutions branching out and/or running into each other. Third is inherently poor customizability, a common symptom of on-premise ERP. Fourth is version lock, where businesses make do with outdated products rather than spend the effort to upgrade.
