How to Conduct Employee Evaluations

When you regularly evaluate employees, the benefits are myriad. The employees will know what you expect of them, you will have an opportunity to reward high performers and help low performers, and you will keep generally attuned with employees. Attorney Amy DelPo cites this and more in an article at Nolo. She says in conducting an evaluation, you need to begin with performance standards and goals. For specific evaluation tips, she says to… be specific in the goals you set. She also says to be realistic, be comprehensive, give deadlines, and of course listen to employee needs.
