10 Small Ways to Gain Respect as a Leader

You do not need to earn respect in sweeping gestures. The little things can go a long way too. Cheri Swales writes with 10 small tips for earning respect. It goes like this: Maintain a positive attitude. Be available to employees. Offer to help a staff member. Tell staff what to do and not how to do it. Value the differences between people. Listen actively to what they have to say. Laugh and try to have fun. Share compliments; do not be a compliment hoarder. Know what it is you want as a leader.
