Calculating the Costs of On-Demand vs. Traditional Supply Chain Software

Software-as-a-service, on-demand, and cloud are all related concepts that are slowly taking over in supply chain software. Dan Gilmore writes an article at Supply Chain Digest about calculating the cost of making the switch. It is not actually as simple as just paying a subscription/transaction fee. There are multiple dimensions of model that apply to the situation, including the deployment model, pricing model, and management model.
