Here’s Why So Many Americans Don’t Use All Their Vacation Days

Jacquelyn Smith writes for Business Insider about some of the main reasons why employees are not taking their vacation days. In a recent poll, the top reason offered was that they were saving the vacation days for when they really needed them. The number two reason was that employees were afraid of falling behind. Manager disapproval only registered in 3 percent of responses. Nearly two in five people are not taking all their vacation, but the good news is that the number of people not checking in with work when they are on vacation is rising.
