Will ‘Google My Business’ Kill SEO?

Getting to the front page of Google, or any search engine for that matter, is a journey that offers no road signs along the way. Gene Marks writes for Forbes that applications like Google My Business, Yahoo Small Business, and Bing Places might be more direct routes to increasing business.

You can use Google My Business to blog about the local region, promote other businesses around you, post photos, share connections, and respond to customer reviews. It requires an exceedingly large amount of time to stay on top of it all, but it offers a direct and visible payoff that is lacking from the boring hunt for the perfect meta tags. It is also a viable alternative for small businesses that just cannot afford to throw money at the problem like a large corporation.
