9 Things to Consider Before Relocating for a Job

One of the biggest decisions a person can make is to move away to accept a new job. Aaron Guerrero writes for U.S. News & World Report to help you make that decision.

First and most obviously, consider how a move will affect your relationships and family. Then consider the financial factors. Will the business cover any of your moving expenses? Is the business healthy enough that it will still be there in a year? Will you be able to afford the new cost of living? Think about what day-to-day life would be like in this new location, and ask around to see how others have handled the transition. If you can visit the place in advance, go for it. Just make sure you do all your homework before you finally pull the trigger.
