3 Networking Tips to Grow Your Business

Staring out your window longingly for new friends and colleagues is a poor way to network. Gay Gaddis writes for Forbes about three basic ways to grow your business through networking. She says the first thing to do is not get bogged down in your own industry groups. Since a lot of people in your industry are inevitably competitors, you should look elsewhere for new contacts, perhaps among your clients. Once you meet someone, you should stay in contact at least quarterly, sending them something relevant and of value. The important thing to remember is that you are either all-in or all-out, so if you are committed to making deals, try to serve on boards and committees.
