6 Steps to Managing Your Online Reputation

Do you want to come across like an Internet Napoleon with your online presence? Then listen to these six steps to managing your reputation from Susan Adams at Forbes.

The Perfect Persona

Google yourself in Web and in Images, and set up a Google Alert to track new content. Buy your name as a domain name, and use it to posture yourself and share interesting information. Centralize all your content in one place, such as a WordPress site (your domain name can redirect to it). Join social networks and fill out all the information. Make a commitment to update each site at least periodically. Link as many of your websites as you can to further increase your presence, and use custom urls that make use of your name. Finally, remember to keep private things private, but assume some of your private info will slip out anyway. This is the Internet we’re talking about, you know.
