Top 10 Business Plan Mistakes

The best-conceived business will fail if its business plan is garbage. Andrew Clarke, CEO of Ground Floor Partners, writes for Entrepreneur about the mistakes made in forming business plans.

The Ten Mistakes

The plan may be poorly written, grammatically. The presentation of it might be sloppy. The plan might be incomplete or lack vital details, or conversely be too packed with detail. Maybe not enough research goes into it. If the plan makes unfounded or unrealistic assumptions, investors are sure to notice. Saying your venture has no risk or no competition will induce eye rolls, not smiling faces. The business plan needs to track a concrete course for how the business will grow and succeed.
