Sharon Florentine sheds light on the challenge of achieving a diverse workforce that can be more productive, profitable, and yet innovative with low employee turnover in this article for CIO.in. One possible option is a Web crawler that uses a proprietary algorithm designed to amass publicly available profiles for hiring managers, human resources professionals and recruiters, called the Entelo Diversity. This is another way to identify, attract and hire talent from diverse, underrepresented populations, as well as help companies that incessantly struggle to address the matter of diversity. Many companies are already searching for more diverse candidates manually, and this service tool helps them organize some of these manual processes, saving both time and money.
What is Entelo?
Entelo Diversity works in conjunction with Entelo's existing suite of recruiting and hiring tools, which leverage big data, analytics and social data to screen and source candidates, says Entelo CEO Jon Bischke. “It uses what's already indexed to create a more in-depth profile of a candidate, and then look at certain data points that could signal whether candidates are male, female, Hispanic, a veteran, ” Bischke adds. For example, is the candidate a member of the NAACP? That could signal they're African-American. Or, if the candidate was a member of a sorority during her college years, the assumptions made that they are female, he also says.
Some companies, even in the US, are often asked to provide documentation of their search and recruiting efforts from underrepresented groups, and the tool offers a fast, simple way to do just that. This does not actually select and eliminate people like other similar web tools; its main objective is for proactive recruit use and to identify underrepresented groups for hiring only. It helps companies identify and recruit women, minorities and other groups—even war veterans—into the workforce.
