The 5 Most Common Career Mistakes

People are supposed to learn from their mistakes, but we make so many mistakes on a daily basis that you would think we would have all become geniuses by now. For those of us who are not quite there yet, Eric Barker spells out the five most common career mistakes. The first is doing inadequate research in your field of pursuit. When you only know half the story, you only succeed in half the job. Secondly, people leave jobs for more money instead of more personal fulfillment. Third, people fixate on leaving a current job behind instead of plotting a trajectory forward. Fourth, being overconfident leaves you vulnerable to big failure. Lastly, people think jumping between jobs is a sign of a hot shot, when in reality, the most successful employees change companies pretty infrequently. To make sure you do not make any of these mistakes, you can read Barker’s full article here: http://theweek.com/article/index/254643/the-5-most-common-career-mistakes#axzz350lCeESB
