“Cross-pollination,” where workers randomly chat with each other about their respective projects and ideas, is actually one of the most opportune moments for new ideas to click. Serendipity is the best friend of innovation. But giving workers time dedicated specifically to tinkering away at their own ideas can also be fruitful, as seen at Google with the creation of Google News. Then there is that most basic way of receiving new ideas—reading. Reading forces you to just slow down and think, so it sure is a good thing you have CAI’s AITS to keep you thinking!
