What to Get the Discriminating CIO in the New Year

It's Always a Good Time for a Gift

Did you forget to get your CIO a Christmas present? No worries, Howard Baldwin of has ideas on how to make up for it. If you want to make your CIO happier in the new year, try gifting them with a little less time on call. During the holiday season, 46% of IT pros will be on call. Let your CIO leave work at work and enjoy some quiet time away from the office.

Also, try a little more appreciation. It might sound too simple to be true, but when IT admins were surveyed, the top thing they all asked for was appreciation for their hard work. A happier CIO might need no more than a thank you (and for you to reboot your own computer before asking for help).

Finally, let your CIO achieve a better work-life balance, or even better, just give them less work in general. It might seem like a tall order, but with Google rolling out the robotics, companies should use the use new technology to create less stressed employees. The holidays might be at an end, but it’s never too late to treat your CIO and greet the new year with a fresh start.
