Sustainability: It’s More Than Green

Mark Woodward writes an authoritative article about how to pave the way for a scalable, sustainable trading partner network, and he breaks it down into five steps. It goes like this:

  1. Share network design objectives.
  2. Reap what you sow.
  3. Be the kind of partner you would want to do business with. (The Golden Rule strikes again!)
  4. Extend participation to the second tier and beyond.
  5. Trust your partners.

Brand owners and suppliers want to come together to select individual supplier and network objectives and KPIs. When data is being adequately shared, you develop the faith to trust your partners. You should also craft incentive programs that boost productivity while enabling suppliers to explore the benefits of the trading partner network.
