Forbes wants you to know that the last thing a real leader is concerned about is the leadership position. They aren’t wrapped up in themselves, but are instead concerned with doing the right thing for others. A good leader will understand that it’s not about the platform, it’s about the people. If there’s a problem, no platform will solve it. Instead, a good leader will listen to the people, and not just listen, but engage with and empathize with people’s emotional needs.
Really great leaders are willing to take a hit. They give credit where credit is due, and they are also willing to take the blame when they are at fault. Finally, great leaders understand compromise, they have passion for their project, and they elevate others above themselves. A person who does all these things will get noticed, and often it’s those that don’t set out to be leaders that make the best ones of all.
