How to Beat the Back-to-Work Blues

Turn that frown upside down, Charlie Brown. Mark King writes an article about how to get back to action after spending time away. He says if possible to take an extra day off to factor in time for getting all your affairs in order. You should check and categorize your email before going into work so you know what is in store for you. But even if you are not proactive about replying to email, if it is important, someone will be sure to remind you again. King even recommends keeping your out-of-office message up an extra day so you are not hounded by new problems all at once. Beyond that, make a to-do list and take it slow. The goal is to ease yourself back into the experience, not to hurl yourself into the meat grinder.
