The CIO in 2020: The Future of the Chief Information Officer

Have you ever wanted to see into the future? Paul Muller, vice president of strategic marketing at HP software, is offering us a glimpse into the future of IT. You don’t need a crystal ball to know that change is coming; so instead of the closest fortune teller, try Muller’s slideshow to help you prepare for 2020. He gives us some of these tips for what will be happening seven years from now:

  • Every enterprise will be defined by software. Your CEO wants to know as much about information technology as you do.
  • Your best customers won’t speak your language, because they will probably be from another country. However, they will be in constant communication as mobile traffic increases to over 33 times its current capacity.
  • Your business will partner with you to find the right service at the right time, but IT will still handle the complex management.
  • You will have more information, but the value will come from the hard to handle info, like videos, social media updates, call center conversations, and website clicks.
