9 Tips on Conducting Great Interviews

Learn what Shel Israel (who has conducted, observed, and been part of thousands of interviews) thinks are the 9 best tips for managers who are looking to get the most out of those they interview for positions. Some of the advice Israel gathers from famous entrepreneurs like Larry Ellison of Oracle, such as how a reporter asked about his childhood instead of “deep” questions, leading to the revelation that Ellison grew up tough, which explained how he brought a street tough competitive style to business. Other tips include coaxing answers instead of hammering questions, using open ended questions and asking what you don’t already know the answer to.
