Translating the Need for Risk Management

thoughtfulMore and more business operations are learning to rely on IT. However, as these two departments become further integrated, so do the risks. Problems in the IT department can now affect the business and vice versa. Erika Chickowski of DarkReading.com wants readers to know that the organization needs to manage risk in a holistic way. Often times, the risks will increase if they are sequestered off to one department and just dealt with there. Something vital is always lost in the communication process, often because the IT and business managers aren’t speaking the same language or considering the same consequences.

The solution is to adapt governance, risk and compliance (GRC) processes that translate across different departments. Not only will GRC help to better align business and IT, but it will eliminate risks for all departments. That’s something that everyone can understand. No translation needed.
