The Missing Supply Chain Perspective in Packaging Decisions

Adrian Gonzalez believes that many companies are not leveraging packaging to its fullest potential within their supply chain markets. Sure, businesses are finding ways to simplify processes so that not all goods are received in one spot, repackaged, and stored somewhere in a second spot for eventual distribution. But Gonzalez finds there is still more work to do. He discusses this in writing and in a video recording with Paul Lomas, VP at Ryder Supply Chain Solutions. One reason that makes it difficult to optimize packaging is that packaging is difficult to standardize, in that many unique solutions to packaging tend to be employed according to needs across organizations.
