How to Conquer Compliance Challenges

We all want to keep sensitive data safe, but the increasing mobility of bring your own device makes this more and more difficult. To keep customers secure, industry and federal regulations have been set that organizations must keep in compliance with. And while this might sound good for the customer, it can be a nightmare for the CIO. To help both customers and CIOs everywhere, Jennifer Lonoff Schiff of warns of the seven biggest IT compliance challenges.

Most of them have to do with employees and their mobile devices. If your employees are working from home, make sure they have company laptops to work with. Mobile devices like smart phones and tablets provide their own set of risks, but they don’t have to be off limits. However, you might want to take special precautions, like enabling devices so that the IT department can perform a remote-swipe of sensitive data. Setting your employees free from the ties of their office computers can be scary at first, but with the right precautions you’ll be able to meet compliance challenges head on.
