How to Manage a Team that Resents You

When you beat out your older peers for a promotion and they resent you for it, what can be done? Alison Green writes at her blog that the answer is to get tough. When employees openly question your decisions to your face, such as how you choose to delegate work, you should take them aside in private and explain that this is unacceptable behavior. You were promoted for a reason, and it is up to you both to show your team that there is a method to your madness and that there will be consequences for not going mad with you (so to speak).
