How to Help New Hires Get Settled in Quickly

Get up and go! Kyle O’Brien writes about how to get your new hires into shape. A simple but vital thing to do is have their desk ready for them. Get all paperwork done and over with as quickly as possible. Let them know you are always available for discussion. Spend some time just roaming around the office to get them accustomed to people and locations. Send out a welcome email endorsed by the staff. And of course, make sure the training methods in place actually work. Do not dump a ton of new information on a person and expect all of it to be retained.
