Little kids are told to put away their toys, but big kids often let their messy offices get out of hand. If you find your work space is beginning to look like a preschooler took over, it may be time to consider Erica Bell’s five tips for office organization.
Start by getting rid of any office supplies you’ve outgrown. Do you really need post-its, colored pencils, or the other clutter on your desk? Get rid of what you don’t need. Consolidate and coordinate what you do. The supplies you need regularly should be close by, and not behind a mountain of knick-knacks.
If the process seems never ending, that’s actually a good thing. Maintaining office clutter is a continual task, but an organized office is more valuable than all the toys in the world.
