10 Tips to Keep IT Staff from Jumping Ship

Do you fear your company might become a sinking ship?  Can you see staff jumping off like you’re the Titanic and the ocean is just a warm bath?  Before you count the life preservers, remember that even the Titanic had a few good parties before hitting an iceberg.  If you treat your IT staff well, they won’t abandon you at the first sign of disaster.  While, champagne and caviar might be a little over the top, Jack Wallen’s article does suggest 10 ways to keep your staff happy. 

Some of these are monetary encouragement, such as giving consistent promotions and extending company computer pricing to staff’s personal use.  However, most of the suggestions are completely cost-free, and are as simple as establishing clear guidelines and offering positive encouragement.  You may want to check your lifeboats, but with these 10 tips to a happy staff, it’s all smooth sailing.
