5 Email Marketing Best Practices: A Practical Guide for the Small Business

Colton Matheson is here to lend a hand with email marketing to your audience. Firstly, only send email to people who signed up for it, because unsolicited email is a fast track to the Spam folder. Second, always provide an opt-out. Third, keep records of when and how email-sending consent has been gained, because it never hurts to have a little evidence. Then be consistent with delivery, sending at the same time of day and using a uniform subject line format that does not make use of multiple exclamation points or all caps. Lastly, consider the message and the medium, being mindful that a lot of people read email from a smartphone these days.
