2013 IT Spending: Crib Notes from Gartner

keysGovernment organizations worldwide will spend a total of $449.5bn on IT projects in 2013, according to the findings by Gartner shared within this article by Archana Venkatraman. The same research is cited throughout the article, indicating that more organizations are spending money on cloud computing, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and platform as a service (PaaS).

Mobility and BYOD also shows up as a major concern and importance to government agencies, as many employees are not centralized and require remote access. The BYOD movement has also come into clearer focus, although government organizations are more hesitant to embrace this movement completely.
