Why Agile Doesn’t Work

According to Lajos Moczar, Agile is just another fad that is at best not helping, and at worst hurting, IT. This conclusion is reached through Moczar's experience at all levels while using Agile Methodology – finding that Agile is bought into for the wrong reasons, ultimately leading to failures which could have otherwise been avoided if managers used common sense instead of hype.

Moczar explains, in detail, three ways that Agile methodology is flawed:

  1. Delivery over quality
  2. development over planning
  3. collaboration over management

Moczar explains how these three elements can lead to complexities and difficulties which are hard to get past. However, later in the article, three pieces of common sense are provided which can help balance the flaws that Moczar sees.
