Getting Assertive at Work

Do not let people take advantage of your kindness and patience. Christine Scivicque writes about what you can do to be assertive while remaining respectful. Always aim for compromise over making demands. Address issues directly rather than complaining about them uselessly. Try to project confidence even when the truth is you have no idea what the right move might be. Control your emotions, because voicing frustrations now might not be worth an enemy later. Just remember that you are an employee with needed value in the company. The business wants you to be your best, and you owe it to yourself too.
