Anyone who has ever worked in supply chain management knows it can be a difficult task. In this second part of an article series, Jon Minnick, associate editor at Industrial Distribution, discusses some key concerns of supply chain management. Minnick poses questions to industry experts to get the most informed answers on issues. When asked how long it should take for an organization to start seeing desired results from implementation, Prashant Bhatia, Vice President of Industry Strategies, JDA Software says that you could see results immediately if the proper solution was implemented. If not immediately, results could appear in three to four months.
Minnick also highlights what an ideal solution should look like. Among other things, it should fit your functional business requirements today, address core business issues, and easily integrate with existing systems. It is important to remember that there is no single absolute solution for your supply chain concerns, but there are always methods that will improve your business overall.
