Learning to Tame Your Office Anxiety

This article from the New York Times explains how anxiety is one of the most basic human emotions. After all, it’s the way our ancestors utilized the “fight or flight” response to their environment. The modern human doesn’t necessarily have to worry about a tiger in the office, but that doesn’t mean the body knows to calm down. Anxiety can be the result of making a presentation, messing up on a project, or even simply a large workload. The trick is to recognize what the stress is, prepare for what is causing the stress, and take a few moments to recognize that your stress is just a reaction (and not nearly so bad as it may seem).
