Stephen Mann has some criticisms of ITIL, as do many others. He posits that ITIL has become too big, too confusing and too misdirecting. Despite all of those claims, he recognizes that ITIL is a great best practices framework, that millions of people are ITIL certified, and that it's here to stay. So what's the solution to bring together the ITIL detractors and the ITIL evangelicals? Mann believes the best way to make ITIL as good as it can be is to have all parties meet in the middle, have the detractors recognize the good and voice the concerns, have the evangelicals recognize the concerns and address them, and have both parties work together to help ITIL grow into the future.
